About Me

I have been working in different areas of education for seven years. In my time in education, I have had the great pleasure to work with many different types of learners at different stages in their educational journey. This made me realize that I enjoy working with students and being a part of the 'aha' moment.

While I enjoyed my time working with students, I found myself wanting not only to deliver the materials but also to create the materials that bring about the 'aha'. This feeling lead me to pursue a way to widen my skill set and my function in education. Thus, I am currently pursuing my graduate certificate in instructional design and my master's degree in education at the University of Florida.

Enjoy exploring my work.

Book Cover

For this project, I learned to use Gimp to make composite images. You will notice that I have two book covers. Each book cover exhibits different skills that were needed to execute different ideas.

Logo

When learning to use Inkscape, I learned a lot about vector images. I made a logo for a hypothetical educational consulting company. I enjoyed playing with the different functions in order to get my light bulb to "glow"

Quiz

For this quiz, we were asked to start with a Javascript Kit Quiz template. From working with the quiz, I got a rudimentary understanding of html and javascript. I also tried to build on my use of Gimp by using it to create my title.

Drag-N-Drop

Making changes and adjustments to the css, html, and javascript for this drag-n-drop assessment helped me to further turn theory into practice. With this project, I was able to play with spacing and alignment and also play with the use of color.

Video

This product gave me an opportunity to work with Audacity and Microsoft MovieMaker. Here, I was able to combine narration, music, and still images to create a short educational video about the Day of the Dead.

Digital Animation

The challenge for this product was to create a short digital animation that would explain a scientific concept. For this, I used Adobe Animate to animate a rudimentary explanation of photosynthesis.

Mobile App

Mobile technology can be a powerful tool for education. For this product, I used MIT's app inventor to create a short knowledge check app about the lobes of the brain.

Screencast

When it comes to learning technology, screencasting has become the standard. Here, I created a short introductory tutorial for a series on Google Forms. This allowed me to become familiar with Camtasia and its features.

E-Portfolio

This E-Portfolio is currently to showcase the skills I have learned in EME6208 - Designing Integrated Media Environments. Each project highlights different programs and skills that can be used to enhance the learning experience and to create learning environments.

I have enjoyed creating these projects and learning new skills that helped me to create not only these products but the page itself. I hope you enjoyed seeing my introductory work with these skills. Please visit again to see my progress.
